SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Saturday was full of lights and Christmas festivities as Springfield’s Commercial Street hosted its annual Christmas tree lighting.

On Saturday, dozens gathered at the commercial street pavilion. The night’s event included pictures with Santa, free hot chocolate, and musical performances by local Springfield choirs.

“I think it’s a really great event, especially for children and families. It’s a really great opportunity to make memories with families on the Historic C-Street,” said Angela Duran with the C-Street Community Improvement District.

Duran says the event was all about Springfield’s community.
