THE MISSION:
C-ART’s mission is to create a premier community art event that is an artist-centered art movement offering a wide variety of exhibitions and performing spaces for contemporary artists and musicians to present their work on Commercial Street. C-ART is dedicated to spotlighting the works of top artists and musicians from Missouri and is focused on contributing to the establishment of Springfield Missouri as a burgeoning art destination on a national basis.
THE BACKSTORY:
C-ART is the brainchild of noted photographer-artist Randy Bacon and artist Heidi Herrman-Bacon. Randy, a long-standing member of the downtown art community, with Heidi, moved to Commercial Street in 2020 with the clear idea to create and launch a preeminent, new, and unique arts event. The pair envisioned C-ART as an ‘artist-centric’ art movement that would present a viable platform for highly skilled, established, and emerging artists to connect and display their works and talents. Randy and Heidi see C-ART as a catalyst for the growth of the arts in our community and for helping Springfield become a nationally
recognized top-tier art city.
