On Historic Commercial Street, Christmas just became a year-round event.

North Star Christmas Co. quietly opened its doors March 15 at 301 E. Commercial St. and the company plans to host a grand opening sometime in July, co-owner Jennifer Baker said. The storefront hosts 12 Christmas trees each individually-themed, thousands of ornaments and plenty of gnomes. Soon, hundreds of snowflakes will be hung from the ceiling.

The Christmas store goes all out, much like the husband-and-wife team, Jennifer and Derek Baker. The duo love Christmas so much, they’ve made a business based on the holiday and brought their family along for the ride.
