Springfield Brewing Company (SBC) has been on a roar of expansion in the last year, opening satellite taprooms in Willard and Rogersville. In 2025, the expansion continues on Historic Commercial Street, but this time it’s more of a mumble.

Mumbles 1888, to be exact. The newest SBC concept from owners Neil and Christina “Chris” Chanter will be a soccer pub in the heart of southwest Missouri, serving up BrewCo beers and Ty lechyd Da Distillery (TID) spirits. In true European pub fashion, no food will be served, but Mumbles will be open any time there is a match happening that Springfield soccer fans want to see.

Mumbles 1888 will land in the heart of C-Street, in the building that formerly housed Springfield staple Ruthie’s (the bar moved just off the historic street late last year) at 504 E.
